Intra Hoof-Sol Bath is developed in close cooperation with farmers, veterinarians and hoof trimmers. It has been thoroughly field tested within the Intra Bath, but can also be used in a regular bath.
We strongly recommend that hoof problems are first diagnosed so you 'know' what you're going to treat! Ask for professional advice if you are not sure. Individual lame cows should be taken care of immediately and not with a preventive management approach as described below!
Use the following procedure to maintain optimum hoof health in your herd:
Step 1:
Before using the Hoof-Sol Bath, it is recommended to clean the hooves with water first. Keep barn alleys clean to prevent excessive build-up on the claws. We like to reach the skin with our solution!
Step 2:
Prepare a solution of 5% Hoof-Sol Bath (5 litres of Hoof-Sol bath per 100 litres of water). Change the footbath solution every 200-300 cows, depending on the bath design and pollution. (If using the Intra-Bath we recommend every 300 cows due to less polution in the bath).
Step 3:
For whole herd hoof health prevention and treatment solutions, use Hoof-Sol Bath twice a week. In the event of serious whole herd hoof problems use the Hoof-Sol Bath for three consecutive days to treat the entire herd until you've got grip on the issues.
