One of the biggest hoof health concerns of dairy farmers today is that the foot bath quickly becomes polluted with manure. The last cows are walking through a contaminated foot bath. The Intra Bath will solve this problem!! Sixty percent of the manure falls through the middle grill, therefore, the Intra Bath is much more effective than a traditional foot bath.
Most dairy farmers use a foot bath to prevent hoof problems as much as possible. However, the overall success of the foot bath varies because it is largely dependent on many factors, including:
How clean are the hooves before entering the foot bath?
Which product is being used in the foot bath to treat the hooves?
How serious is the infection rate throughout the herd?
In the last few decades, few developments regarding the principle style and functionality of a foot bath have come forth. And hile the use of a traditional foot bath is better than not using one at all, there are still many disadvantages with these type of baths:
Hard to handle
Pollution in the bath
Unkind for the environment
Expensive to maintain
With the introduction of the Intra Bath, these issues will become problems of the past! Intracare has developed the Intra Bath together with dairy farmers, hoof trimmers, and veterinarians. The Intra Bath consists of three parts: two synthetic baths and a metal grill. The three parts are easy to assemble. Compared to traditional baths, the Intra Bath has the following advantages:
Less pollution - 60% of the manure falls through the middle grill and not into the bath.
More cost effective - Intra Bath has 35% less capacity compared to a traditional bath. More cows can be treated, using less product.
Easy to handle and environmental friendly.
The Intra Bath can be delivered in two versions - Intra Bath Stainless Steel and Intra Bath Economic. Both are made from good quality materials. The grill of the Stainless Steel version is made from 100% stainless steel and therefore very sustainable.
We advise using our Hoof-Sol Bath (solution) exclusively in the Intra Bath. This product is more effective than traditional additives, and doesn't cost any more to use!
Push the grill firmly into the baths with your feet. Make sure the baths are secured tightly to the grill.
Step 3
Fill the baths with at least 15 cm (6 inches) of water. The total content of each bath is approximately 80 Liters (21 Gallons).
Step 4
Add 4 Liters (±1 gallon) of Hoof-Sol Bath, per bath. (This would make a solution of 5%.)
Step 5
After approximately 300 walk-throughs, we recommend refreshing the baths. Remove the grill and empty the baths. A great way is also 'topping-off', where you add the right mixture(5%) after 300 cows and continue using the 'old' solution. This option depends, of course, on the pollution rate in the 'old' solution. It should never become a 'breeding' ground for bacteria!
